Which would it be? The rather obscure and rare Mazda 929, with parts that would be nigh on impossible to obtain, but would give instant credibility at your local Radwood cars & coffee event?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Or, the more desirable 1991 Acura Legend, with it’s somewhat more reliable and easier to maintain drive- train, and, at least to me, an elegant design?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Both priced the same, with the Mazda having almost 30K fewer miles. I’d lean towards the Mazda, myself, but that Legend does look pretty tempting.

I really loved the look of the 929, especially in that pearl white they offered it in. Would rather gaze upon that than the Legend, but all things considered I think the ownership experience might be better in the Honda. Mazda electrical systems of that era were known to  make Lucas blush. I’d still probably end up in the 929 though, assuming it passed muster.

The 929 is RWD so it is cool, although both are longitudinal engine, so easier to work on than transverse

Both suck since they’re interference engines with a timing belt :(

Legend, I like the 929s looks but all I can think about is a cousin of mine had one in the early 00s and it was a nightmare, very unreliable car

Yeah, they’re nice and all, but I see that model year 300ZX all the time. I can’t remember the last time I saw a 929 or Legend driving around.

There is no bad choice here. I’ve owned a 91 legend coupe, and it was a very, very good car. We also had 91 Mazda MPV growing up, which was build on the RWD 929 platform. That was also an extremely good vehicle, and Mazda’s bubble era build quality and reliability were amazingly good.

Don’t think so, can’t see anything about it. Looks like that one has ugly DOT lamps maybe? french ones have nice clean lamps;

Either way I don’t want to do a stance/VIP build, and I don’t think ive ever seen a 929 slammed, so I’d go with that one.

Rockauto has most of the parts for the 929 in stock, struts are the only thing I couldn’t find, but they can easily be found online. Easily be the 929 for me, no offense to the Legend, but idk what’s so legendary about it.

I love the Legend (and owned one), but that 929 looks pretty fine...
